The Israeli army used a drone for the first time to tear gas Palestinian protestors, Haaretz reports.
The drone was used last Friday on about 200 Gaza residents protesting near the Israel border. It dropped tear gas and dispersed the crowd, Haaretz said.
The news agency said military sources reported that this crowd-control method is still experimental and has not yet been made operational.
Officials said drones allow the army to control protests from a safer distance.
