A shooting at a Turkish university Thursday killed four people and left three wounded, according to Reuters and local media.
The gunman, a researcher at Osmangazi University, killed the assistant dean, faculty secretary, lecturer, and a staff member from the education faculty, university rector Hasan Gonen told Turkish media. CNN Turk reported that three others were wounded as well.
He has since been detained by surrendering, CNN Turk said. His motives are still unclear.
Gonen told media that the shooter entered the university’s education faculty and shot the four university staff members. Reuters said footage showed several police officers and medical staff, as well as students and university staff receiving treatment in ambulances.
Osmangazi University is located in the northwestern province of Eskisehir.
