Saudi offers film-making courses to grow local talent

(Arab News)RIYADH: The Saudi Film Council said that registration for courses in filmmaking at top universities worldwide has begun since the start of June.

The move was announced by the film council is to encourage Saudi talents and help develop local skills to join the international film-making industry.
The council said that registration for animation courses will start this week and will continue until June 17 via the council’s official websitewww.film.sa

The council also announced on its official Twitter account that registration for the courses at the prestigious French school ‘The Gobelins’ have now opened for courses due to start in France from July 2 to 16. The Goblins is considered one of the best colleges in the field of animation, and its graduates are working in animation studios everywhere in the world.

The Saudi Film Council, which is part of the General Authority for Culture, is also planning to offer Saudi filmmakers access to a course module that will run from July 23 until August 24, at the Studio School in Los Angeles.

In addition, the General Authority for Culture will offer Saudi talents two courses in the Kingdom focusing on storytelling and scriptwriting. The first course will be set up and delivered by the USC School for Cinematic Arts, while the other will be offered by the Independent Film Institute.

The General Authority for Culture is the main Saudi body responsible for the nation’s expanding entertainment sector.
