- Supreme leader’s adviser says Russia is set up to put resources into Iran’s oil sector
ANKARA: On Thursday, the top adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said: “The meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin had been “very constructive, friendly and fruitful” and that Moscow would put resources in the Iranian oil sector.”
The adviser, Ali Akbar Velayati, told Iranian state television from Moscow: “Our leader (Khamenei) values enhancing ties with Russia as a key accomplice … This way will proceed … Russia is set up to put resources into Iran’s oil sector.”
He included: “Russia and Iran will keep on cooperation in Syria.” The two nations bolster President Bashar Assad’s powers in the Syrian civil war.
