Iraq buys 180,000 tonnes of rice from Argentina, Uruguay, and U.S.

DUBAI (Reuters) – Iraq’s trade ministry bought 90,000 tonnes of rice in an international purchasing tender from Uruguay and Argentina, traders said on Thursday.

The ministry also bought 90,000 tonnes of U.S. rice in direct negotiations.

Traders gave the following breakdown of the tender purchase:

– 60,000 tonnes of Uruguay rice from Hanalico at $566.60

– 30,000 tonnes of Argentine rice from Hanalico at $555.60

Iraq also bought U.S. rice through direct negotiations as follows:

– 60,000 tonnes from ADM at $625

– 30,000 tonnes from supreme at $625
