Turkish lira trades at 5.33 against dollar after gains on sanctions waiver

ISTANBUL (Reuters) – The Turkish lira traded at 5.33 against the dollar on Tuesday, around its strongest levels in three months, supported by investor optimism after it received a waiver on U.S. sanctions targeting Iranian oil.

The lira <TRYTOM=D3>, which has recovered from a slump to record lows in August, closed at 5.3120 on Monday, when it firmed as far as 5.3025.
