Saudi January consumer prices down 1.9 percent year-on-year


Saudi Arabia’s annual consumer price index fell 1.9 percent in January from a year earlier due to a sharp drop in housing, water and energy prices, according to data from the General Authority for Statistics.

Housing, water, electricity and gas prices fell 7.7 percent in January from a year earlier, the data showed.

Consumer price index dropped 0.3 percent from December 2018, it said.
