He is now cluster director of operations at Crowne Plaza & Holiday Inn Kuwait, Al Thuraya City
crowne Plaza & Holiday Inn Kuwait, Al Thuraya City has promoted Zaid Mashini to cluster director of operation and deputy general manager.
In his new role, he will oversee the operations of both properties and work to grow the reputation of the IHG name in the country. Teaming with the area GM, Mashini will be the first call for any issues at the hotels, including those relating to capital projects and guest satisfaction.
Contained with Al Thuraya City, the hotels together boast eight F&B venues, five ball-rooms, 14 meeting rooms and more than 500 keys.
For Mashini, it is a promotion after working as director of sales & marketing at the hotels for four years. He has been with IHG since 2012, according to his Linkedin, kicking off as assistant director of sales in Muscat before being promoted to DOSM two years later.
With more than a decade and a half in the industry, his new responsibilities in Kuwait mark the first time he has moved away from the sales department and towards more of an operational role.
On a country-wide level, Kuwait has currently capped its arrival and airport capacity until further notice to stem the spread of COVID-19. Additionally, the cap on arrivals has led to around 60,000 flight cancellations.
