Wildfire blazes in Jerusalem hills and evacuation of Israeli homes

MEA – A wildfire blazed in hills west of Jerusalem on Sunday, forcing the evacuation of residents of several streets in the area for fear of the fire reaching homes.

According to the seventh Hebrew channel, firefighting planes and crews on the ground were battling the flames since Sunday afternoon, to try to put out a large fire that broke out in an area called “Moshav Beit Meir” in occupied Jerusalem, which is built on the lands of Mahsir village.

The channel indicated that the fire is continuing and is expanding due to strong winds.

Israel’s Magen David Adom national ambulance service said no injuries were immediately reported.
