Shortage of fuel in Lebanon to put burden on different sectors in country

In Lebanon, the lack started to weigh heavily on different sectors in the country.

Lebanon was confronting a serious lack of fuel among shortage of US currency reserves required to import basic commodities. This resulted in successive power cuts in the country, affecting Lebanese daily life and led to difficulties in having regular operations of businesses.

According to Adnan Rammal, representative of the trade sector in the Economic and Social Council, the trade sector lost around 80 percent of its activities as it is more difficult to transport products to consumers given the lack of gasoline.

He also declared that “Our consumers are also no longer free to use their cars to visit shops and buy their needs.”
